I know some won't get it and that's ok. They put me where I want to be and my arms are comfy. It sets me up for my next trick. Custom back rest bracket to work with the Harley back rest I have from my last bike.
 
Interesting. I like the height not sure if I would go that route to get to that height. I will be curious to see how they perform and if there's any flex

Your arms are at about the same attitude as min with the 18" apes on my V2K!
Apes may just be stronger than your set-up . . . just sayin'.
 
I like the current set up because it has a lot less leverage on the bar clamps. There is a little flex which I imagine is coming from the handle bar bushings. Once I have it together and ride it I'll decide if I will add cross support. I imagine I probably will. For now it's exciting to have the bars on the bike again. I have the cables from Barnett. I need to pull my brake line and measure it and send pics of the fittings to have a custom brake line made.
I will say if I did this again I would use 3/8" threaded binge since M10x1.25 bolts with Allen heads are a royal PITA to try and find. I used boltdepot.com to get two 35mm bolts. They are in Massachusetts and got them to me in only a few days.
