Although I don't know what a Triumph '49' tune is... I would say the decel popping is normal, and not to worry. No cat bypass on the Jars because there is no cat.

touche

I would have to disagree, a lot of popping during decel is do to the overly

lean condition. I don't know what the Triumph `49' tune is either, but I

don't think any Triumph tune will be rich enough, although I guess it's

better than nothing. I would either put a PC111 on there right away or

the TuneBoy. Running it the way it is now, IMO is risky.

You can be rich as hell over 6% TP and lean at idle, and the Jars will pop when you close the throttle on decel. I'm sure Jethro has succeeded in freaking Humble out... so Humble, just pull a spark plug and take a look. I bet nobody has been leaner than me (AF 18.5) and it took WAY more than just Jars to do it.

Checking the spark plug right away is a great idea, IMO you are lean through most of the rpm range. But then again, I had done the triples
also, so I was much more lean than with the stock intake. That reminds me, Humble, if you want the most out of the Jars, do the triples, the combo works great together.

'49 tune is really old. One of the first tunes from 2004. I would question why your dealer is still using it?

i saw the sheet he took it from.............said it was a new tune.............dated 2007..................i thought it was odd i never heard of it....................too bad we cant get a freekin' list from Triumph.

I'm betting the guy means tune 20149 - Rocket III with aftermarket exhaust with cat box removed - which is a new Triumph tune

yeppo................20149.....................i was a little too succinct.

i rode the thing for over 200 miles today.............waiting for the engine light to come on............all i can say is

WHAT?..................every time anyone talks to me......................WHAT?

these things are the sh%t!

shoulda done it sooner........................TB...........here i come.

That's funny, he doesn't seem too freaked out to me.

You're right, Jethro... I misjudged Humble. He doesn't rattle so easy. 8)

too dumb to scare anymore.

the pipes were so loud.......i didn't hear the FHP pulling our group over today..........gave the leader a fast driving award.............and after looking at my license and insurance card.,( I was second in the group, right behind the leader.)....................and NOT noticing i had NO bike license or even a learners permit. ...........gave me a warning for "following too close" I didnt want to tell the cop.........I was right on him....cause i was SLOWING DOWN to turn....LOL I had already told the group.............."looks like i get a free ride in a police car. So after lunch................the leader was a tad hesitant to hit the throttle..................so.........TA DA................i led em home hitting 120......and bouncing off 130................thinking.............."sure hope Jethro is wrong!"

P.S. fast driving awards are going for $180. US at that speed.
