A couple of days ago was coming home and stopped at the Creek Plaza to stretch out and light up a smoke. Went to start the bike and just had parking lights. Thought it to be a bit odd. Bike cycled and started right up but no headlights. Checked the fuse and it was good. At 4:00 AM after working a twelve hour shift this was very frustrating to say the least. Bought some new fuses any how and stuck the new 20 amp in. Nothing. Then i noticed that in the process of turning the key something did not feel right. So i went back into the truck stop and bought some three in one oil. Placed a few drops on the key and inserted into the ignition. Guess what we had headlights again. Have not had a problem since then. Anybody got a explanation?

The original Daymakers are fine.:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup: Just found the incident a bit strange. No clue why the headlights acted up. but everything is good now.

iirc the R3R-X has a relay system from the factory does it not? The fact that oil helped is probably a sign of shyte or corrosion. But How about this. I have a relay system in. Both lights fed off the same relay - But quite deliberately I use a 5 post (independent output posts) relay so each light has a different contact. Every so often - only one DIP comes on. It is an unintentional and undocumented design feature. But one I intend to eliminate using contact-less relays. ;)
