newbie has another kinda seat question

pegs

Moving the pegs might eliminate her legs hitting the bags. I still want to get her butt comfy. Might end up doing several things. Still thinking about that Corbin. Seat is higher.Could keep the Triumph bags we like.. Keep 'em coming if you got the time and ideas! I think about ideas like idk did and wonder if my mustang seat from my intruder would mount on my Rocket....She would love that but I doubt it would work without major mod work. It almost looks like the **** thing is just about the right size.

Will it fit my '05

With all the talk and options of seats and bags I've got one other question. If we go with the Classic touring seat (that's the one wife sat on in showroom and said seat was O.K. but didn't work with Triumph bags) Will Classic just snap/bolt right on to my '05? I can always go with a shorter bag and make that work.

Thanks again to all!!!!

Pug,
I got the Corbin dual touring seat and both me and my g/f like it. Also, check out Rivco passenger floorboards with the 4" extenders. These give your wife more area to put her foot on and are 4" forward which allows her leg to clear the bags better and makes the seat feel softer because moving the leg forward flattens the butt on the seat. Lastly, check out Leatherlyke saddle bags for a nice locking hard bag.

Thanks!

Thanks for more info. Don't know if I can swing doing the corbin just yet ($550 plus ship). Purchase of bike plus tax plus everything I'd like to have for the season... may have to try to go with Classic touring (found one for $305 shipped) Have gotten multiple feedbacks in both directions (some good some bad on classic touring) Found a seat from an '07 Rocket touring (all in one piece with wider rear seat) Hope this will fit on my '05 Rocket. Maybe that will get me started. My guess is it will fit, I don't think the rocket has changed. Wife worries Corbin will put her a little too high on the backrest. I can tell you his is getting to put quite the circus trying to decide on seats. Everyone has said the Corbin is great, I might just spend the money, get it and see how it works out!! Any feedback on that stock '07 touring fitting my '05 would be appreciated!

Thanks,

Pug

I had a similar problem on my '06 Std Roc. Got the Dual Classic Tour seat with the Driver Backrest. Love the Driver Backrest but I could stand for it to have a position 0 in addition to the std 1 through 6. I need just a smidge more lean-back. Wife says the back seat works well with the Triumph backrest. Rear pegs have to be moved. Wife is only 5'4" and she said the pegs bent her knees too much. Replaced them with the Rivco floorboards and extension kit. It moves the footrests about 4" forward and Wife says it's much more comfy. I also have the Leatherlyke bags. They are alot cheaper (~$475)than the Triumph leathers and they hold up forever. They're hard bags but have a leather pattern molded in. They also hold 20 lbs each and you can pop them off in seconds with virtually no noticeable mounts left over. A good setup IMHO.

Was gonna get the Classic touring seat, not sure if I wanted the backrest. Could add backrest later if needed, worst part would be paying shipping two different times. Had earlier post from idk about moving footpegs (wife likes footpegs instead of floorboards) but it involved JB weld etc. not sure I'm going to do that. Might see if I can do what you are talking about with seat and move footpegs but not have floorboards. Wife is about 5'7" and I've had others tell me the passenger foot placement helps with the seat comfort. Wheels are turning a solution is coming.

Thanks,

Pug

No offense meant on your solution idk. Its looking like what I'll be doing. I looked at it briefly (thanks for the link) then had trouble getting back to it. I'll get back to it though. I was afraid the JB weld would make something permanent that I couldn't move without ruining a part of the bike. I must admit I didn't give it the thorough look through I will have to if I intend to do it. Thank you for taking the time to document it.
