New to the world of Triumph R3

Welcome from WA.
You WILL NOT be sorry.
This baby is the Barry Bonds and Roger Clemons of a Harley on RIODS!!!

Hello all.

Well i am a born again biker who went and bought a Harley straight away after passing my test. After living with her 7 weeks i decided not to waste any more time and have bought a 2014 Triumph Rocker 3 roadster. I have not even test riden one although i have studied the life out of youtube and cannot find a negative report really yet. I have however found that she is a handful and also heavy but i still cant wait until she is delivered on Wednesday. Can anyone give me any advice before she arrives apart from send it back ??

Georgieboy.. And yes i am mad as a hatter !
***NOATH your mad as a hatter, you have passed the test cos I think we are all ***n Mad, crazy and twisted....:cautious:
Welcome to the fold .... YOU my friend will fit in just nicely....

I've found that as long as you keep the black rubber things on the ground and all the shiny bits away from it, these bikes aren't heavy at all. Therefore the best advice I can give to you is don't drop it. Welcome aboard.

G'day and welcome.

There are two schools of mind in running in a new bike. One is to ride it like you stole it, the other is to follow the manufacturer's instructions. I would strongly suggest that you follow the manufacturer's instructions, not so much for the bike, but for you. It will take a little while to get used to the bike, its power, its handling, and how heavy it can suddenly become if you lean it too far when not moving - or moving very slowly. The running in instructions will help make you a better, safer, and longer living, rider.

Apart from that, you are going to have a LOT of fun.

Welcome from Houston. Keep them both...one to keep the wife happy and the other to keep you happy...better yet...teach her to ride the HD and then you can really figure out what a rocket is like. Ride it like you stole it!!

While the beast is indeed quite well mannered, a careless blip of the throttle the beast will lunge ahead without mercy. The response is instantaneous. Learn to respect it and it will respect you.
