I just got my new Rocket the other day and when I was picking it up the head guy in the service dept loaded the latest map from triumph into the ECU. According to him it cures the idle problems. Yesterday I hooked the Rocket up to the tuneboy to get the ECU serial #, it showed what tune was loaded into it and the tune number wasn't any that is listed on the tuneboy website, so I guess it is new. Oh the bike runs perfect but I have nothing to compare it to as I never got to ride it with the old tune.

Asked my dealer what the call up was for.It is for the idle problem.Havnt had a problem with my 05 so told him to do it on the next service

I emailed Wayne at Tuneboy about that new "Executive" for the ECU and if I can apply it to my existing maps, but never heard back from him.

Has anyone talked to Tuneboy about this or know for sure if Tuneboy maps can update the ECU Exec? Nothing I read in the Tuneboy docs suggests it does.

I haven't received my TuneBoy yet so I'm not fully up on what's possible and what's not. Can you download the new Triumph tune to your PC and send it off to TuneBoy for conversion to a map? Or isn't that an option with the Rocket ECU?

No, Tuneboy cannot download the existing tune from the bike with the newer Triumph ECUs such as the Rocket, newer Daytonas, Speed Triples and Sprints. I think Wayne must do some kind of conversion with the raw Triumph tune files using his facilities.

I don't have idle problems but I'd like the latest ECU firmware updates to go with my current supercharger tune if it means a better running machine.

New tune isn't what it's cracked up to be...I developed the idle problem, dealer installed the new tune based on the Service Bulletin - bike ran well for about 3 weeks and then the idle problem was back with a vengence. Bike's in the shop again so we'll see what happens next.

What's up with the ECU not being able to "hold" a tune??
I only got 35-40 miles away from the shop when mine started to buck, snort, fart and pop! Next traffic light, no idle. Just loped up & down until about 3 lopes in, then STALL.
SUCKS! I hope the "stepper motor" as Adam at Daytona Triumph calls it & has on order will fix it. He seems to think it will.
Exactly what is a "stepper motor". Is it an idle control thing or more like an IMRC {intake manifold runner control} that we have on our Ford cars & trucks? My Rocket surges badly along with the idle problem.
