With the Rocket 3 and a Moto Guzzi California 1400 sitting in the garage I had been looking for lighter "knockaround" machine for a while now. I found this 1999 Adventurer in the rear of Triumph Dealership. The previous owner couldn't pay the repair bill so he had relinquished the title to dealer to settle the debt. The bike had been completely serviced after sitting for a number of years but a pinhole leak appeared in the tank and this was apparently the straw that broke the camel's back. The bike has just a little over 9k on the clock and runs like new. I have applied POR 15 to the tank and patched the hole in the process, the tank is sitting on the workbench waiting on the cure time. I have owned a couple of these early water cooled Hinckley triples in the past, and they are pretty well bulletproof. Probably the most over-engineered machines Triumph ever produced. It is cleaning up nicely and should be on the road in the couple of days. I am pretty sure there may be some snidely comments from the other two in the herd about size mattering, but I am very happy with new addition......

That is a nice bike. Just be sure to put a new set of modern performance tires on it. You will really like the handling.

Those are great bikes. I rode one last year and loved it. They are going dirt cheap around here when they pop up.
