That is a beautiful plane. Your plane looks very maneuverable.

I took flying lessons in 90 and 91. Started out in a Skipper then moved up to a Sundowner. Both slow but fun to fly especially with the crazy instructor I had.

Thanks...Its an Arion Lightning LS1 powered by a 6 cyl Jabiru 3.3L engine. Super wide flight envelope ...40it stall and 180 max cruise ...75 per cent cruise uses 4.5 gal Per Hour 100 LL.

Dry empty weight is 792 lbs and has 30 gallons fuel. Very easy to fly..w 3 axis linked autopilot and terrain avoidance system.They build them in TN....Very efficient way to travel long distance!

I am not sure what the G rating on it is but it does not have an inverted fuel system so anything nutz has to be done quickly an at altitude. It does have a 17 to 1 glide ratio (gliders are 20 to 1 and up) so if the engine does quit you can glide her in an as long as you do not land going faster than 40kts with a 10 percent incidence angle(nose down attitude) you will slide and walk away from most landings in clearings.

It has a constant speed prop and with the light weight and wing loading it will climb out at near 2000'/min.

To go fast and semi aerobatic in a sub 150K aircraft that can do 200mph you would need a Bellanca Super Viking 300(HP) yet that weighs 3300lbs vs 800lb for the Lightning(the Jabiru is 135HP) but the Bellanca is a stronger airframe as the Airon was built as a Light Sport Aircraft for speed and efficiency. Both will 200mph but the 300HP Super Viking will use triple the 100LL at 15+ gph. And 100LL is 4bucks a gallon.

I have attached a pic of my first aircraft; a 1946 Bellanca Cruisair and that used a Franklin aircooled motor(same as in the Tucker) and that aircraft would rip up the sky...Paid 12K for it in 1988! Deal of a life time.

These are the two most exciting sports(riding and flying) but bikes are 2D with a lot of bonehead cage drivers vs flying which is much more of a methodical sport and less hypervigelence is needed as you don't have the escape routes provided in flying.

You want to have a solid marriage or a prenup as these are the first to go with divorces!

Yeah the flying went away before the divorce for me. She was just too jealous. I even took her with me when I flew the Sundowner with the instructor.

Can not find the cartoon with "mans best friend" showing man and his dog and wife standing on cliff.

Next frame show him kicking wife in arse off cliff and walking away with the friend that won't betray him.

My wife used to want to go every time and a few snap rolls cleared her of that urge. I saw a VFR Arion Lightning with 200Hrs on it for 49K....A STEAL...They cost 125 to 150K with an IFR glass panel.

49 sounds like a lot but that is less than a car and this aircraft travels at 3 miles a minute as the crow flies.

You can cut an old credit card to do the exact same thing as the Seal Mate. Just push is under the fork seal and pull it all the way around so it cleans any gunk caught in there. Then pump the forks a bunch of time to set the seal. If it doesn't work, then it is new seal time.

NOT yet you can spray the seal to clean out the dirt with starter fluid ive done this many times and it works
