Need a drive shaft for 2022 GT

Hey guys,
Looking to replace the drive shaft on my 2022 GT with 27,000 miles. When apart to re-lube the splines, I found the bevel box end has a "set" when manipulating the joint in one axis. Called my local dealer and they want $700. No rebuild kits available. I'm hoping there's a more reasonable source for this part. Is there a parts house out there that would carry a shaft at a better price.? My dealer is crazy expensive for anything.....

The drive shaft is part # T1272500. Item #2 in the drawing. List price from Hermy's in PA is $607.16. You can check eBay and other outlets for salvage parts but then you take your chances with the used parts market.

what is wrong with your shaft?
ebay has shafts and they are from very low miles bikes which were written off

If the shaft itself is good you could try taking it to a specialist drive-line shop. The bearings will almost certainly just be an off the shelf product that they can source.

Hmm.....driveline shop might be able to rebuild the U-Joint? Maybe somebody has done this on the forum? If so, are the part numbers available.....
I'll have to visit a local drive line shop and ask....

you should be able to get replacement u-joints (or spiders as they are called in some parts of the world). It is extraordinarily unlikely that Triumph have had a specialized sized u-joint made, it is almost certainly the case that they have used an existing u-joint size. A driveline shop will be able to buy the joint from whoever manufactures it if Triumph don't supply the u-joint as a separate part to the shaft.

I'm sure you're right....... I'll be visiting a shop soon. If they are able to provide, I will share the manufacture and part number.

i kinda think on the older rockets that they are called tension universal joints
never followed up on this so can't say for certain
