Hi, I was out on the bike yesterday when it cut out and died on me. I got a strong smell of burned out electrical components and on investigation it turned out to be the Datatool alarm unit had burned itself out. I was able to disconnect the alarm plug and rig up a temporary bypass to allow the bike to run (I'm an electrical/electronic engineer) but I wasn't getting any indicators or brake light! Now am I correct in thinking that when fitting the alarm unit, it's effectively wired through these circuits? There are a few other connections on the alarm unit besides the big black plug (which I bypassed) and I reckon they must be for the indicators and brake light. If my theory is correct then the original wiring must still be in the loom somewhere , trouble is I can't find them. Can anyone shed some light on this please? Many thanks for taking the time to read this, I await your input.
