Nanny Rider Hipocrisy

Yeah, I do the same typically for riders I don't know, give them a wave as I go by as well.

I wish the infrequent enforcement of left lane camping were enforced more often (year round).

Many years ago on I-5 in Shasta area, I saw a CHP approaching from the rear. I moved right into the adjacent lane. My youngest brother remained oblivious, continuing on at the speed limit.
The CHP pulled him over! We were told that even though travelling at the speed limit, it is unlawful to impede traffic.

Euro cops play by a different set of rules, a much harsher one for moving violations... Except...Germany, where you can pay on the spot instead of getting a citation :)
Austria is (was anyway) the same. Spain if it's just speed (upto 30kph over) - you get a ticket but 50% off if you pop to the bank in 3 days.

/Venting here

Today, someone at work, who out ranks me but is younger and rides a Harley Ultra Classic, came and "counseled" me about my speed. I passed him on the way home going 80 (seriously only 80) in a 60, didn't share his lane, was legit cruising at 80 and politely passed with signals and TONS of space. He was camping in the left lane going 69. Traffic flow was about 70mph and light.

I'm sorry but if you are speeding and someone goes a little faster, you have N O GROUND to stand on and try and preach about safety.

Only because of rank and decorum do I bite my tongue at work, smile and nod. Outside work, when people do **** like this they get 150+ fly y with only a foot or two of space, ****ing drives me nuts. Ride your own ****ing ride, I get it, 69 is wicking it on that hardly but 80 on an R3 is chilling...

Just irks me when slower, less proficient motorcyclists try to preach to the choir while being wrong themselves.

Hilariously, I'm usually MUCH more aggressive through that section of road ... Lol.

Next time give him the finger and if he has anything to say just tell him to get a big boy bike and harden that F**k up.

I did a 8000km in 6 days run up to QLD from WA and was on my way back on the Nullarbor and passed 3 caravans in a row let’s just say I was low flying, pulled up at the check point on the border .
Old mate in the 1st car with the caravan gets out and heads straight fore me. He
Is about 70 . I thought here we go he is going to get up me and I can not blame him.
He go,s f*** that sound good can you open it up when you leave .
Now that should be the reply you are looking for a

@Claviger, I know the type well and it's not just with riding. While on detachment at Roosevelt Roads PR back in the 80s, one of my pilots overheard that a few of us swimmers were about to go rent a boat from MWR to carry our beer while we swam from Puerto Rico over to Vieques. He blew up and ordered us not to attempt such an impossible feat. We never did tell him we had already done it the day before.

I am getting more immune - Working with politicians dulls the "givea***" response. The "I don't need to ripyerthroatout" pills probably help some too.

Hey Chris,
I be curious what three letter word follows "givea***"???

On i-5 in my neck of the woods people don't get the concept of moved right once you're done passing.

It's like a board of left lane lemmings that dive for the exit 100m before the exit ramp and slam on the brakes.

Sadly

Similar azzhats in my neck of the woods. I'm at the point where I hate driving and riding is on country roads as much as possible.

I think you did the right thing...by not responding...as if you speak another language,,no understand you!!...it irritates them more...specially as you smile at him as you walk away...next time you ride up behind him, drop her down one and slide on by...:p
