my adopted daughter with husband and kid in tow came to visit me in kaleden BC canada, for those south of the border who may wonder where is this place '
the deal was I pay the hubby ,s air fare in return for helping me build the garage (21 x22) they came from france so one airfare is still substantial coins.
we got the stucture up and we are as well planning visits around the province taking in the sights in between building.
'yesterday I was going to take my daughter around the skaha lake (20 miles ride on the john deere special at around two PM but at noon I was holding a 2x4 stud on the garage wall when her hubby drove a 3 1/2 nail through my right thumb accident of course but it looked so weird, and I never though of taking a picture , thierry the hubby took me to the hospital for nail removal that was another experience as the nail which missed the bone(apparently) was glued to flesh due to heat from speed . the doc used both hands to pull while I held my wrist with my left hand . the ride was cancelled and I have a week of rest and my thumb looks like the michelin man

so...you had wood in your hand and you got nailed by a frenchman??...Canadians...weird mob...

C'mon post a pic, you know we all want to see it!

On a more serious note; I hope it heals quick and that there's no permanent damage and you can spend time enjoying your daughters company!

I once nailed my thumb to my hand with a 3 1/2 spike, like you, miraculously missing all bones, my 8 year old daughter was the only one home, I had her pull the nail with pliers while I held the thumb down with my other hand. She didn't want to do it, but I told her it's just you and I home, you must, LOL.

I had a very close encounter with a angle grinder while doing some car body repairs....Down to the bone and stitches required..:(
