It’s def not in gear, and yes no seperate off on switch like the USA bikes. I put a brand new fob battery in a couple of months ago. The fob lights up green for go as it should.
All checks indicate no problem with the battery or fuses, yet the LCD dash will not turn on. The turn indicators do not work, the DRLs are really dull, but the steering lock somehow still works snd the red flashing light on the dash still flashes. Maybe a problem with the immobiliser?
I'd still try putting the FOB, or the spare key, by the dimples on the left rear fender to see if that works- fast and easy to check. The FOBs cause all kinds of issues. (mine, for example, always says out of range, but does works). Yours, on the other hand, may not be working

I will try it tomorrow, but have never had an issue with it other than a low fob battery on the dash early this year, to which I replaced said battery and no issues since.

I had exactly the same problem about a month ago, no start, checked what I could (battery and fuses etc) still no go, called out man with his repair van, oh yes he says its your battery, carry on then says I, an hour later he gave up and a van ride to the local Triumph dealer was arranged, which my dealer kindly sorted., only for a couple of hours later they called me to say they think its the fob and could I bring the spare key down, I did so and yup it was the fob, held the spare key against the nipple under the rear mud guard (plastic side up as metal side blocks the signal, apparently) bike started as normal and no problem, (usual fob works as well under the mudguard but not as it should ) new fob on order (six week+ back order) Yea I know I should have tried that, DOH ! When new fob arrives it has to be programmed and the blank key cut to match the old one. So I am using the bike with the rear mud guard start procedure, hope this helps anyone in the same situation.
