Nolton I'd have needed an ambulance as well ... heartattacks can be brought on by continued uncontrolable laughter... and that's not even mentioning the risk of hitting your head as you collapsed to the floor from lack of oxygen , again from the continued uncontrolable laughter ...
I agree with 64 Herald, cant figure out how the thing flipped, it looks like the rear doesnt even touch the speed hump, good argument to have tham all removed, alas then we would have nothing to jump. cheers scratchyDave
I counted at least 3 hard solid head strikes on the pavement. Any of which would have been fatal if he had not had at least his half helmet on.
For those that choose to exercise their right to not wear a helmet when they ride, go back and watch the slo-mo section of the video again.
I am not advocating helmet laws. I hate them. However, after really looking at this closely ask yourself how important it is to "thumb you nose at authority" vs. slipping at least a half helmet on.
If you look at that real close...you will see that the rear wheel did hit the speed bump..
When the front hit the bump the front tire came up in the air...when the rear tire hit the speed bump you can see the front tire driven down hard onto the pavement and the front forks collapse as the rear of the bike is shot skyward.
Not a good day for him...just hope the BP vest helped out with some of the impact
That vid should be used in rider training. Must have been a pretty bad speed bump, looking at how the following riders went over it. The guy that crashed was going pretty quick though and must have seen the bump. Reckon he was trying for something spectacular in front of his mates. Idiot. It's a chilling crash but always good to se a show-off come unstuck. I'm sure it hurt but he didn't seem too badly busted up.
the second last rider nearly bit the ashpalt aswell that was one nasty speed hump and maybe I missed it but there really was no visable warning, over here they paint speed humps and have clear warning signs I feel for the guy that would have hurt Cop Or no cop he is still a human being that said while I have know some as friends they are just doing thier job, unfortunitly some take the power trip attitude and mar the good ones. It is a ***** of a job as they have to put up with people that take on an offensive attitude when pulled over
