Metzlers with Avons?

Okay, back to my original question. I spoke with my dealer today and he said there should be no problem with running an Avon and Metz together....now back to the Dark Side
 
I just had an Avon rear mounted today to replaced a punctured metz and kept the metz in the front all is cool running
but I have been relieved of $450.00 for the pleasure of a new tire. see the pictures on the screw in the rear thread.
 
That sucks, sorry about your luck. Was that price installed? I just put on the Metz, hope I'm done for a while with the whole tire saga.
 
yes installed I posted the pictures on metzler prices thread.. invoice and the screw in the tire!
 
It's what all the cool kids are doing, Duke. I got a screw in my back tire yesterday .
Luckily I managed to bargain the shop way down on the price and shop time, but it still stings.
 
less than 1000 miles after buying my Rocket, this was embedded in the crappy, paper-thin Metzler:



It is such a crappy tire with piss-poor traction. I'll sell my Rocket before mounting another Metzler on the rear.
 
I too had a puncture less than 1000 miles out, weren't no monster bolt like that though!
I had an 8 inch nail go in the tread, back out and then into the sidewall. Two punctures for the price of one. It wasn't pretty, but I plugged 'em both and proceded to wear it out in another 7000 miles. I didn't have any problem pluggin the sidewall since they are thicker there than the tread.
 
.. I rushed to the shop to retrieve the rear metz and lo and behold was told too late buddy ! it only had 5000 miles and knowing I could have plugged it and use it as hellfire did .darn...now I feel truly screwed
 
Betcha someone had their eye on it from the second it hit the tire pile, if it made it that far.
