What better way to get to know people than to ask them what kind of oil they run? I know this can be as controversial as running a rear car tire and that's why I'm asking it. What products do you use to grease your machine? On my Harley I traded in I ran Rotella Synthetic 15/40 in the motor, Redline Shockproof in the trans, and Rotella 15/40 dino oil in the primary. It's going to be weird not having 3 holes to poke around in but I'll learn to love just one hole now. I've also heard about lubing the drive shaft splines every 10k. Is there anything else on this beast that needs some lubin'? Thanks as always for your time. Love and kisses. NORM

I'm still under warranty so I use what's identified in the handbook:

"Fill the oil tank to the maximum mark with a 10W/40 or 10W/50 semi or fully synthetic motorcycle engine oil that meets specification API SH (or higher) AND JASO MA, such as Castrol Power 1 Racing 4T 10W-40 (fully synthetic) engine oil, sold as Castrol Power RS Racing 4T 10W-40 (fully synthetic) in some countries."​

I like Triumph's recommendation. They tell you what weight they recommend rather than "Use only Triumph Brand Motor Oil sold at your triumph store". A small joke toward HD there. HD want's you to use there oil in all 3 holes and it's not optimum for any of them.

I plan on using Rotella synthetic 15/40 when the time comes. I can't believe they recommend 10k miles between oil changes.

I run Amsoil 15 W40 Diesel & Marine oil. It's what Bob Carpenter recommended.
For the splines I use a moly based grease from the Honda shop. It's what they use on the Goldwings.
