I have a long haul one piece seat. I couldn't go 100 miles without stopping for relief from serious pain. I had a medical grade gel pad installed underneath the cardboard sized factory gel pad and some high density foam added. Done by The Seat Doctor, at a rally for $200. It does not make the seat feel soft. But the butt pain is totally gone. Over night temps were 30-32 degrees last night. This morning the seat was not any colder than the normal seat. Seems to stay colder in the heat or same as regular seat. If you just want to stop the pain, maybe you can find someone to Properly install a gel pad under the foam.
