Located near me, a beautiful red Rocket with lots of extra parts, some upgrades, and some hard to find parts at this point in the market. Seller said "shifter link shopped working. Needs to be fixed." In our conversation, it appears it's stuck in 4th, so it could be ridden home, carefully. I asked him if he could take a pic of the break, but he couldn't, because it appears the problem is on the inside, so the transmission will have to be opened up. my dad's a retired mechanic, and I did learn a bit from him. I'm willing to take my time and make this a project, but I want to know from you guys out there, what's the danger to look out for in this, and is it worth it? He's asking $2500 for the whole thing. Many thanks!

If it were me I'd be looking at the service manual to see what is involved. I suppose the only good thing is, once you made the repair you wouldn't have to worry about it happening since it seems to be a common problem. Thats about all I can offer on the subject. Seems you would be saving about 2k on the deal. How many miles does it have?

about 35,000 miles

Just realized in my own research that it looks as though I'll have to pull the engine. that's not something that my little home garage is up to
