Looking for a smart guy!

OK, here is the deal and I will have to give the full scenario so sorry in advance. I bought my bike late August last year. The bike ran great except that it would stall from time to time coming to a stop after pulling in the clutch. I put 600 miles on it in 2 days and had the 600 mile service completed and informed the dealer of what it was doing, they told me to continue to ride it as they found nothing wrong with it. I took it on a 2000 mile trip and it continued to stall occasionally. I took it back in after the trip and they looked at it again and they said they took off the TPS's and cleaned them and put them back on. I picked the bike up and once I was able to get it out on the highway it ran like crap, when I cracked the throttle it would just roll on instead of the torque monster that it was when I bought it. the I took it to another Triumph dealer (but they sell Harley's too) and they scheduled me an appointment and when I went back they told me that it was normal with good power. Evidently they have been riding too many Harley's because it did not run anything like it did when I bought it! I thought that maybe they loaded the touring tune into it or something, so I bought a new exhaust (CES) and 3 K&N air filters. Installed them and loaded Claviger's tune that he sent me and it seemed to run better but still not as good as I remembered it to. So yesterday I took it for a 550 mile trip and it just did not impress me the way it used to, and all along for the last 600-700 miles it never stalled when pulling in the clutch or coming to a stop. Well last night when I was returning from the trip and I slowed down to make a turn, pulled in the clutch to down shift and it stalled!!! I pulled over restarted the bike and it started running really good again!!! It is running great again, but I did notice that it is a little jerky or notchy when I am doing some slow maneuvering. I am thinking possibly the TPS or something to do with the fly by wire or possibly the ECU. Any thoughts on this??? It doesn't seem to be throwing up any codes when I check with my diagnostic tool. There is definitely something wrong with it but I don't have any faith in the dealerships in my area. So any of you smart guys or someone that may have had any of these symptoms I would really appreciate it. Thanks

Hook it up to TuneECU and check the TPS settings. I would bet that they are not set right. It would also be worth checking the throttle body balance as well.

If they don't fix it then pull the crank position sensor and clean it.

Other things that could cause it are loose, or dirty, low tension leads on the coils (check all 3), and loose or crack vacuum hoses. If it is a vacuum hose then that would show up when you check the throttle bodies.

All those are easy to do.

I had those "stalling" symptoms for a while in the hotter months - After long fast-ish runs you´d slow down for a junction - pull in the clutch and the revs drop below 500rpm. Sometimes I could catch it - sometimes stalled.

My problems appeared at about 5,000kms and went at about 10,000. Was especially an issue when ambient temps fell and rose across the 25°C threshold.

TPS plus throttle bodies. The Throttle body balance seems to be quite fussy at low rpms. Pretty much what idk says.

Same stalling issue as well. After the 10,000km mark (give or take) the issue resolved itself, she runs great now.

check this guys,if your rocker cover has been off,the bracket that holds the plumbing ontop of the cover has probably been bent upwards to remove it.When they bend it back down after re-fitting it never goes properly down,which makes it hard to re-locate the plumbing,you can do it BUT after a while the connection between the piece off the bodies and the under tank piece pulls apart.then you get the stalling symptom.have a look under the claw where the two port joins the 3.You may see a gap at the bottom.i removed the bracket from the engine and had no problem since.As you guys say its at 10k is it after a valve check..

Great idea to check for intake leak, and don't want to hijack the thread, but the official first "valve check" is now 20,000 miles. It's covered in a previous thread called, Scheduled Maintenance Check Sheet. My nearest dealer told me as well when I asked them to check the valves at 10,000 miles, they said it was changed to 20K because there was little chance that they would get too far out of tolerance by then.
