Lets Talk Front

Good Buy for the $$$$

I picked up the Dunlop D404 150/80R17 to replace my well worn Mezzler at the suggestion of tdragger. A good buy for around $100.00 total from Ron Ayers. I believe it has a wider profile than the Mez did, or maybe it's just that I have some tread visible again.

Keep us posted on the wear and riding characteristics of the Dunnie, would you please, George?

If you like the Metz tire you can always go with the HB series. The Dunlop is probably an H series also. I went this route last time and could not tell the difference between the H and Z series.

I'm needing my 3rd front replacement. I like the Dunlop D 404 and now since I have a size smaller on the front going a size larger. As a matter of fact, putting one on made for the rear. I wear the sides out before the center of the tire here in Fl. where it is pretty flat. Any thoughts??

Good choice, George. Now if you wouldn't mind cleaning my Roc up to the same shininess as FBG, we'll be even.

btw, I ordered my last D404 from the guys out in King George who mounted my Riken. Good guys and good price.

I'm liken' that tire way better than the metz George.
Does she handle as good as she looks?

Skip,

With the snow here I haven't had the bike out of the garage yet. James (tdragger) is on his second D404. On some of the curves I have seen him take, it certainly seems to hold the road. I can't wait to give it a try as soon as the black top is visible again.

Is that the H rated tire? Whats being commonly used thats a Z besides the Metz? I have a sorry lookin front (no drill holes though ) that needs replacement come spring and I want to put on something that will go with an Eagle F1 as soon as the rear wears out again. A good high speed wet traction tread pattern would be nice if they exist.
