What he said. I get terrible turbulence with my Cee Baileys para sail without the lowers.

Me too. Without lowers, my neck gets tired from wind buffeting my head back and forth.

I actually thought about that! Painting the lower part to match with a few flame licks coming just above the trim..

as much as I love my fly screen I recently went on an 1000 km ride and regretted not changing back to my touring pack screen the constant wind pressure fatigues like you wouldn't believe

On the long trips I think if I had a full screen I'd get to comfortable and possibly fall a sleep ,I think the wind and the bugs help prevent this .just my opinion

I honestly can't tell much difference in the wind effect since before and after putting the angry screen on. I've just always liked a more minimalistic look on the R3s. I understand the conveniences of the big hard bags, tall shields and even consoles, but for me, I think she's too pretty to cover up and distract with all the extras. That's one reason it took me so long to put the screen and crash guards on.
Still not sure I like the "look" with them, but I'd rather damage the guards than the bike in the unfortunate event she ever goes down again, and driving on the autobahn, actually felt the "need" for a little wind relief.
I think you've got a good compromise. Put the bags and tall screen on for long road trips and off when in the local area. Painting the lower half would definitely be a good, unique look!!

Careful, I know someone with a creamsicle paint job that has those....

OMG here we go picking on each other. I like that creamsicle paint job but those pipes the obnoxious loud pipes! ( I'm jealous)
