How many run this set up in the uk.What scares me is when its raining As we tend to get a bit damp in the uk.Has anyone had any problems using them in the uk.Does it make much differance to the fuel consumption.
if your worried about it you should check with K&N and see if they make drychargers to go over them? They work good on my external K&N.
they do say they restrict 10% of the airflow but then you can carry them with you and raise the tank and pop them on whilst your putting on the rain gear. Just a Idea!
That looks a good set up steve .What about fuel consumption. My mats just been round and asked me if i knew about these new laws coming in.Anyone else heard about this.If you get caught doing 20 mph your now banned.
I'm pretty sure this has been covered before. I know Miami Dave has been in some pretty miserable rain with his and didn't have any problems. I've only had my Rocket in mild rain, but I've been in some bad rain with my Daytona running quad K&N's and the only thing I've had to do is re-oil them afterwards. A science geek can correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure that water molecules are considerably bigger than air molecules and don't readily penetrate the filters. Fuel consumption is going to depend a lot more on your right wrist than the filters. It might change slightly when you change your map, but I don't think you'll notice it. Mine goes down because I love grabbing the throttle with the lack of secondaries

Not noticed any lack of mpg Step, but I dont really keep track of it, the R3 is only a big daft toy after all, I could tell you if my diesel taxi started using more fuel straight away!
They are talking about giving 6 point for speeding 20mph over the limit, so you only get caught twice and get banned.
What's needed for the conversion? The 3 filters, anything else? Does it flow better than a single drop-in filter, or just free up space under the seat?
This thread tells you everything you need.... It also tells you how to remove the secondary butterflies while you're in there. You can leave them if you want. But why??
I had mine on the dyno before and after changing the filters. I gained seven horsepower with nothing but the filter mod. I had the PCIII tweaked and picked up a couple more. The space under the seat is an added bonus.
