kaoko throttle lock

cruse control

i have a prob. with my hands going to sleep if i leave them in the same position very long. so i spent the bucks and had the dealer put the electric cruse on my 07 r3 classic and love it.

Which begs the question....which one? Any pics?

Yes, I got enough orders from this site (and others) to send in 4 or 5 and got somewhat of a deal. I've had the Kaoko on my R3T for a couple of months now and I'm still walking the fence as to its usefulness. I guess it's just about the same as any other throttle lock. All things considered, I may put it on eBay for $100 delivered and buy the BrakeAway (for just about twice the cost of the Kaoko).

My 10,000-mile ride in June was a good test on the Kaoko's effectiveness. For looks, I'll give it a 10---it truly looks like it came stock on the Triumph. For usefullness, I'd rate it at about 6 ---the roll-on, roll-off system takes a bit of technique (easy to use with big gloves, though).

But, like any other throttle lock (VistaCruise, ThrottleMeister), it is what it is.

Dan: You will not be disappointed with the BrakeAway. It works wonderfully well and looks great - very high quality aluminum castings. Good range of adjustments. On a long ride last week it held my speed at 75 MPH for 10 minutes (very flat terrain).

I went ahead and ordered one. My Kaoko will be on eBay this weekend.

Another Rocket rider from this site (Big D) also has one installed and loves it.

Thanks for the input.

If you have Iso-Grips, make sure you soap them up well before sliding the BrakeAway assembly over them, otherwise you run the risk of tearing the rubber portions of the grips. It will be tight, but you can do it, just be careful.

I'd be interested in seeing what it looks like all installed if you don't mind posting a photo when you're finished.

Thanks, I wanted to see one in action ....

A direct mechanical release by the front brake lever huh? ... that must be the mechanism they were talking about was unsightly.
I can see why.
