Just a few questions about my new R3T.

No,its a triumph windshield, believe it's an extras 3 inches taller than stick. Look around,if you can't find what you want, you can call them and order it. I can go in when it arrives, make sure it's not damaged and send it out.
As far as the tune,I put mine on right away, but saved my original map in case I had to send it in for warranty work.

I could be wrong but believe Truimph dealerships will re-tune the bike for a small fee and will not void the warranty.

Excellent. Thank you very much for looking into the windshield for me. If I decide to go ahead with it, I will let you know. Just want something bigger for a longer highway run. Altho I haven't spent enough time at high way speeds just yet to see what its like. Was hoping to do a lot of riding this long weekend, but its been totally miserable here. Lots of rain and 6 degrees. We needed the rain, but a couple of hours of sunshine would be nice. Ft. Mac needs it more than we do now.

I have to go to the dealer anyways to pick up a couple things. i'll ask my salesman about the tune and warranty. He's actually a pretty no-BS kinda dude, so I should get some good info from him. I will most likely wait till the break-in is done regardless, gives me something else to look forward too.

Touring and Roadster motors are identical.

Touring is neutered artificially in the ECU code. Throw in a non neutered tune and its about 125whp 145lb-ft. Once you fix the gimping Triumph did, it will happily rev past 4k, and pull well up to around 6700.

On brakes, Japanese bikes are often over mastercylindered. This gives the "effortless" one finger braking feeling. The triumph brakes feel less responsive but once you adjust to being able to use a ton more force it can let you modulate with more accuracy. The initial bite will never match a jap Sport Tourer, doesn't matter what you do, its not going to happen. ABS limits how much bite is possible to get.

Regarding octane... 8.7:1 Compressions, dual plug head. Run pig piss if you want, the motor is not knock limited, but mama Triumph does call for 89 octane by US ron/mon average.

Oil, Triumph originally recommended Mobile One 4T, then switched to Castrol. Really, as long as its motorcycle specific oil of the right weight and full synthetic its fine. Amsoil, Mobile, Castrol, Redline, Royal Purple, Motul, etc just change it on time.

You'll fine the R3 motor is one tough bastard.

Congrats on the bike and here are my feelings to your questions.
1) 87 octane
2) bigger better, maybe 700$ is with all the quick mount hardware??
3) any 4T full synthetic oil should be fine, but some oils do seem to make the trans shift smoother.
4) look at something like this skene www.lights.skenedesign.com I installed them and they are well made and work great.
5) you have anti lock brakes, jam them on and see how well they work.
6)just numbers.
7) ride as much as you can and you will enjoy the rocket more and more each time you ride.

Good luck and have fun.
