Patagonia, wow, there's one that's not on everybody's must visit list. Very nice area, I rode down that way a few months ago.
Interesting thing about riding in that area is about one in three vehicles you see is a green and white Border Patrol truck. Sign of the times I guess.

like a true canadian up on the ranch roads on two wheels east of patagonia I was stopped by one of those white and green SUV officer asked me if I had seen mules my better half riding pillion replied in true honesty ( she is dutch) only cows officer I nearly fell off the bike.

I was riding down near the Mexican border awhile back. I'd gone south from Gila Bend down to a small town just north of the border called Why, AZ. Leaving there I meandered northwest and came upon one of many Border Patrol checkpoints. The young BP officer asked me where I was coming from. Without thinking, I answered, Why. At that point a couple of other officers started walking toward me. Realizing they may not be that familiar with all of our small towns I quickly pointed out I was referring to Why the town, not being a smart ass. Cavity search avoided.
