Is this the restriction symptom

I recently had cause to max out the throttle in the first couple of gears from the lights, enough said that I left the blighter in my wake but I had ignition problems at red line.
The bike is stock, so my question is, whether the ignition breaking down at high revs is a problem with the standard tune or whether this is the restriction in the lower gears that everyone talks about.
I'm considering the need to book her in with the local dyno shop to install Tuneboy and KN filters.
Is this typical of the standard setup for a 2011 R3R.

if you are used to twisting the throttle on a typical sportbike then the you need to learn to shift a lot earlier on the r3... i find myself banging into the rev limiter on a regular basis once i switch into reflex mode (biasing brain cells into processing what's in front of me vs. paying attention to the bike)... since low-rev high-torque with a manual transmission is a new thing for me it hasn't become part of the autonomic response package yet...

Rev limiter. Its fuel being cut. Shift.
I used to hit it in third a lot when the bike was new. Tune boy let up the rev limit and open the secondaries as soon as shifting into gear.

All of the above is right and you can also raise the rev limiter in TumeECU up to 7,000rpm

My rev limiter is at 9000, LOL, I've seen 9200 on my digital tach when bumping against it.

The only way I could find to get a tach on the Touring was to add Autotune and LED display to the Power Commander unit. If I remember the stock tune set it at 5600 or 5800, it took a while to get the nerve to push it that high.
