****ski Bubba I never heard of any rocket not having enough charging capability. Of course I have not seen as much filter carb on one either. Maybe you should just add another battery or a generator to the trailer :) I was born in Aurora and am now down in central Illinos. I have to come up this spring and see the monster of yours. I run a lot of electronics on mine which most likely add up to your trailer stuff. Boost gauge, Intercooler in/out temp guage, wide band A/F system vampire unit, GPS phone/ laptop on the tank and of course the ever loving cig lighter and a few other goodies and with 900 amps of battery's I have never had problems.

I can pretty much guaranty that if you switch ALL of that on at once - the alternator is NOT keeping up. I'd suggest getting a VOLTMETER on as a matter of course.

With both headlights on plus both Fogs - a GPS - the voltage dropped to nominal (just keeping pace with demand) on mine - Highway cruising at 3000rpms - Any faster than 3500 - below nominal.

CONVERT ALL THE LIGHTING (ESPECIALLY HEADLIGHTS AND - if you have them FOGLIGHTS) TO LED.
This alone will reduce permanent current drain a HUGE amount and probably improve lighting at the same time.

I'd also suggest you fit a secondary battery in the sidecar - use a split charging device and run the accessories off that. A split charger will only allow the secondary battery to charge when your main starter battery is in good condition. A small one is cheap. - IT IS IMPERATIVE that both batteries are of the same type - i.e. both Lead/Acid, both AGM or both LiFePO4. Guess how I know!

Thanks guys . I am hooking up a light now that is supposed to tell me if battery drops too low ...and Warp9.9 stop by anytime Bro !!! 1 630 417 4828. I live on Smith street !!.

Warp is spot on with the extra battery in the side car. I have a side car rig I use for winter riding, I sometimes run heated gear, I worry about the 1980 charging system, I plan on adding a deep cycle marine battery to the side car, it will do double duty as ballast.

Yes Tripps that is my plan as well. I was planning to add 2 deep cycle . But haven't figured out for sure the hook up and charging >>> may also use solar charger on dash of Sidecar. and will have a battery tender plug to charge when stopped over night /
