I need a little help with this, which was supposed to be very simple (at least according th the instructions!)

I went to the left side panel where the wire for the power socket should be, and there was the wire wrapped in blue tape - great! (so far, just as described in the instructions). Now look the two connectors:

Wrong connector! Is that connector for something else and the one that should be there for the power socket hiden somewhere else? I could not find another unconnected connector on the other side either. Anybody with the same problem?

By the way, this is the "genuine" power socket from Triumph, part # A9938047.

Hi Warp,

Found the correct one. Here is what happened:

When I looked thru the opening when I removed the infill panel, I saw a cable with a blue tape wrapped around it. As I pulled the wiring as much as I could off the hole and could not find anything disconnected, I tracked the other cable down to the side panel and found it to be hanging unconnected. Did not even checked the connector - unwrapped the blue tape, passed it under the frame and then - oh oh...

After posting the picture I went back there with a flashlight and tried to pull the whole wiring off the hole covered by the infill panel again, as it seem to be stuck somewhere. Guess what was holding the cables to come out? The correct connector. It was stuck somewhere , that's why I thought it was connected and could not see anything disconnected anywhere inside.

I'm finishing installing it now and wrapped the other one back in the side panel. By the way, what is that connector in the picture for? Any ideas?

Thanks for the help.

Ditto. What is that connector for?

I chopped the end off and used the wires for my intercom...

I believe thats where the interdimensional flux detector hooks up.
I could be wrong though.
Someone with more experience than me on interdimensional travel will have to chime in.
Is the Dr. back yet???

I too found it to be only for a flux capacitor. I bought one of the Triumph aux sockets on the forum and ****ed if I can't find anything else to fit it. And me with no flux capacitor.

When I saw your first picture, I thought "Another little joke from Triumph", just like the socket.

So what do you think that first connector is for?

If you look at the service manual page 18.19, it shows this cable hanging right below the relays for the fuel pump, EMS and cooling fan. I couldn't find any reference of what that connector is for.

Probable direct connection for an early model flux capacitor.

Looks like the connector for the emission control canister, evaporative emission control is fitted for some countries, vent hoses from the fuel tank cycle the fumes into the canister and then flows into the thotlle bodies to be consumed by the engine, just another thing to remove and discard over the left shoulder...............
