Insides of TORS

This is the Touring forum. No cat eliminator on the Touring, cats are in the muffler housing.

TORS and D&Ds on the R3T are louder than stock but not obnoxiously so. Jardines on the other hand are quite a bit louder.

So you think for an old guy like me that rides long distances and just wants a bit more sound than the stock mufflers, TORs would be okay? I had my Harley right where I wanted it. I found the stock 2006 CVO 4" can, 110CI Electraglide Ultra mufflers were perfect for me.

If you're looking for a bit more performance and a slightly louder sound either the TORs or the D&Ds would probably fit the bill. Of course, you'll never get the R3 to sound like a V-twin, some find that the louder it gets the less they like the sound. Obviously a very subjective thing.

Unfortunately there are few options for the R3T. Replacement mufflers like the TORS and D&D are most common. Staintune makes a set for the R3T but I haven't heard of anyone getting them. I had Staintunes on a couple of BMWs and really liked them. They're listed at $1295 Aus Dollars, not sure what the exchange rate is, but I'm sure they're still quite a bit more expensive than the competition.

what up, hellfire?

i dont think the tors are all that loud. yes, louder than stock, but not like some loud harley.
i dont like loud, to me the tors are just right.

Have you removed your CAT box yet? The TORS are not that much louder than stock with the CAT left on, but once you remove the CAT....like Hellfire said...4-5 times louder than stock. Let me put it this way...woke my wife and daughter up yesterday morning when I started it in the driveway....

The R3T does not have a CAT box.

So, does anyone know if there is any thing in the crossover pipe collector box to cut out? If the TORS are glass packs, they should be a little louder than they are, right? If there is any baffling in the resonator, I think I may cut it all out.

The louder they get the more they sound like a low flying Cessna. LOL

That box is empty. The cats are in the muffler housings. The TORS do not have cats so even if they were identical inside (except for the cats) they would be louder.
