Touring TORS Install Questions

Hey gang, I found a NOS TORs set and going to install them. Currently there is a Jardine set on there that are pretty rough and kinda loud for my taste. So some questions.

1) am I supposed to cut the tailpiece to fit tors? I thought they would slip on and I hate to cut but there doesn’t seem any other way of doing it.
2) related question, is the tailpipe I have stock or is it possible it is also aftermarket? I don’t see any markings.
3) will the tors be quieter than the Jardine set?

You should not have to do any cutting. Everything should fit together normally. it will be quieter than the Jardine.

You need the rest of the stock exhaust . You might be able to make it work.

The tail pipes you have look to be stock the jardine exhaust is a complete system. I don’t think you can mix them with out some modification. You need the stock header and cross over pipe . 1st photo stock header 2nd photo jardine. They are different.

Ok, I definitely have a stock header. The midpipe I have definitely looks different than a stock one. I may have a hodge-podge here. I think I will just cut the midpipe I have, it looks like it would flow much better than a stock one, which I don’t have anyway.

That is not a stock touring crossover. You will need to modify it if you want to use it

No the Jardines are a replacement for the stock crossover set up. Viking has some nice ones.

2008 Touring, Tors with original Triumph crossover, 14 in the diagram.
Quite a subdued sound, but loud enough for me, I doubt a different crossover would make much difference.
