Inexpensive Starter Replacement

Ah eBay. I confess I look there less and less these days. Mainly because it seems to be incompatible with the elevated security measures I have on the PC's.

I FCUKING HATE JAVA SCRIPTS - HATE WITH A VENGEANCE

Before you buy a replacement starter make sure you know which type you should be looking at.
The Rocket requires a ccw direction motor. not all the part numbers listed where for such,
I first purchased a 17794 starter this is a brand new after market product not a denso unit.it is cw which is no good, and the bolts do not line up,
the second unit i got was a 17610 which is ccw and bolted straight in .It is also a rebuilt after market unit. i think the denso unit is 280-0174.

The 17610 starter is starting well and seems strong, time will tell. I can always go back to the stock one if it fails but i have heard good things so far.

Thanks Wayne if you had not told us about a bigger starter i for one may not have looked.
Thanks Scott for getting these parts shipped over to me .

Here you go even cheaper for USA and Canada (and Estonia WTF??) You lucky bastards! ;)

Thank you all !!!
NO point in replacing a starter if your stock one is working fine Carpenter has yet to use the bigger starter on any off the high compression rockets just the larger battery cables will do the job BUT if your starter needs replacing then use the more powerful unit

Either your post or the one you quoted would seem to have the wrong part number? Based on previous posts, it would seem to be you.

Doesn't the one I quoted agree with my post? I know I cannot buy them anyway as they will not ship to Australia but they do appear cheaper.
one I quoted:
"...the second unit i got was a 17610 which is ccw and bolted straight in .It is also a rebuilt after market unit. i think the denso unit is 280-0174....."

my post:
"...Delco:

Denso: 280-0174,..."

I saw Denso 17774 which was so close to Delco 17794 (wrong one) that I read it wrong, I stand corrected, sorry.

I can ship one to you. I have sent HansO many different things. You pay the cost but I will do it.

PLEASE look at the first post . . . I've updated the info there.

Yes, Advance shows 280-0174 but ONLY as the Denso reman unit, and at that, a whopping $232 plus $35 core charge.

Here in Georgia is the new starter for $82.00 with shipping -- how can they do that ??? 12 mo warranty

And I'm going to "take one for the team" -- I just ordered the 1.4kW starter from that link.

All the way through checkout, no added shipping, no added core -- no nothing added.

PayPal - OneTouch ® - easy peasy.
