Welcome Roy. When I'm asked why I bought a Rocket the answer is "because I rode one". Same answer when asked why I didn't by a Harley actually. If your lady is as smart as mine she isn't try to stop you riding but rather is concerned for your wellbeing. Respect that and acknowledge her intentions and you don't seem to get so much grief.

WOW Mate "Coz ya rode one Rocket vs HD" well said! Thanks for the welcome CanberraR3

Welcome to the jungle from New Jersey, USA, Mr. Casey! Having been born and raised in Shelby country, your Aston Martin would naturally sing to me more than Carrol's Ford.

Not meaning to be obsequious, however it is not a "TR3" that has caught your fancy,

rather, it is the R3T (Rocket III Touring) or the R3R (Rocket III Roadster) that is turning your head...

Given that you are clearly a performance oriented vehicle enthusiast, permit me to whet your whistle a bit further, with a sidebar notation that there's a fellow on your fair isle named Neville Lush that can deliver very similar goods to this: http://www.carpenterracing.com/sbp_TRIII.html

Laissez les bons temps roulez!

G'day and Welcome Ron .. some great blokes running around on Rockets down your way. See you live in Elwood .. spent 12 months living there myself in 2002. Long way to find some open roads and corners I remember. Used to do a 400klm ride every Sunday up in the hills when I lived down there.

Welcome to the hord from Northern Michigan.

G'day Vanguard138,
Thank you for your reply
Welcome from Adelaide, nice rides, but you will forsake them for the R3

Thank you for your reply welcoming me Mike188. Well, I think the Aston Martin Vantage may go soon as I just don't drive it anymore, only seem to put about 2,000km a year on it since 2006. It's an impractical gentlemans car and way too precious and I don't have space. I prefer hot rods.

Hi Triumphil,
Thank you for your replay and welcome. Much appreciated.
Not offended in the slightest Triumphil. Guess I gotta learn the Triumph slang.
Yeah right, I know what a TR3 is, silly me!!
God no, I'll be buried with my Mustang, the Aston Martin is easily replaceable and not half the fun. Tame and smooth albeit, awesome power which is too harnessed, unlike the raw, neck snapping power of the noisy, smelly, cronky, poor handling Shelby fitted with a new 5.0lt, EFI high performance 400ph+ motor. Love it. My Mustang gives me movie star status. Get filmed almost every time I go out, free to rock concerts via the rear entrance (thinking I'm a performer), even get the praise Allah bows.
Aston Martin's a pensioners car.
