Hi R3Rider, (R3Rider....why hasn't anyone else thought of that?),
Sure will look forward to it. What are do you live?

Yeah I was surprised it wasn't taken too. I live in Vermont. So I usually head out towards the Yarra Valley, Healesville, Reefton, Noojee that sort of area...

Sorry I a bit late haven't been on much lately been workin' my A off with extra shifts a the build up to our busiest weekend of the year down here on the coast so I'l simply Say WELCOME BETTER LATE THEN NEVER.
Broke my back in two places (crushed L1 fractured T12 Dr said I was lucky to not be in a wheel chair) 11 years ago still gives the occasional grief but you learn to live with it and just carry some meds with you for when it get a tad unbearable

Thank you for your welcome HanO,
Did you have a bike smash?
We're the same age and surprisingly me too, missing 3 ribs, just crushed to mush and the remaining pieces floating anyway so, doc removed them and strangely, my one titanium cage is at T12 as well? Actually, I don't have a T12, nothin left of it and the other cage is at L1 although I do still have an L1, for what it worth - zip. Flew off the top of an 8m high cliff on a 400 Yamaha scrambler, landed like a compressed accordion, but no music came out.
I broke my back in 7 places among several other injuries. Only the back gives me grief now, take 250mg Tramadol just to kick start my every day, and 4 hourly drugs thereafter.
Hey Mate, life's good. Every few days I say to my wife "Darling, we are so rich (and I don't mean financially).

Negotiating with a 65 yo Dude now, Classic , 19,000km hotted up and pampered, he bought it new in 2006, too heavy for him to ride now. Wants $10K and I offered $9k. Hope to make a decision in the coming days, if he won't accept $9k Ill buy another I'm looking at. There appears plenty for sale.

God, I can't wait to buy this bike but I can't understand why the Triumph Rocket has got me so obsessed???? Like the one dude said on this site. When he was asked why he bought a RT3 - 'because I rode one", and when he was asked why he didn't buy a HD - same reply.

Catch you if I buy a Sydney bike and ride it back to Melbourne.

Yeah it was bike wreck, your injuries sound worse then mine as they didn't want do surgery for fear of damaging the spinal cord, it has left me with some nerve damage resulting in weird pain spasms down my left leg at times after I get fatigued i get bit of a limp but as you I feel rich as i still have my Mobility and I have my Wife, I just don't push the limits as much now, look forward to meeting you if you do come thru or at the next RDU in SA later this year, Oh and I too am a mad Ford fan always dreamed of one day having a 68 convertible Pony car, I'll just keep dreaming for now

G'Day HasO,

Wise decision not to go under the knife Mate. I had my surgery about 3 years after my prang and have regretted it ever since. Reckon the pain is worse because of the surgery.

Yeah, well everyone seems to like Mustangs. If you do get a '68 convertible make sure you buy it in Aus. I bought mine 15 years ago, flew to Houston, drove it to LA and shipped here. Paid $40k and spent another $60k making it right and it looks exactly the same as when I paid $40k for it. Those yanks are serious back yarders. My mate bought a Fastback back only to find out that it used to be a coupe which had the back cut off, consequently never to be licensed to Aus.

How many bikes do you envisage attending RDU in SA?

G'Day R3Rider,

I'm on the cusp of buying a Rocket and currently negotiating with 3 sellers countrywide, just selecting the correct bike for me. so I hope to be an owner in the next couple a weeks, might be divorced though!!!!

WOW Mate, you live in Vermont, at least thats the Elwood side of town. If you're ever in Acland St, St Kilda, (5 minutes walk for me) parking where all the bikes park, outside The Vineyard Cafe near Luna Park. Please contact me so we can meet, chat and have a coffee.

BTW I've been wondering why I'm obsessed with the RT3, been doing a little research to compare HP ratings which now satisfies my query.....

40 hp - Yamaha VS650
52 hp - Suzuki - VL800
62 hp - HD - 1600
109 hp - V-Rod HD -1300
127 hp - Suzuki - 1800
146 hp – Triumph Rocket

Cheers. Roy 0438-269-406.

Yeah I know the parking spot, it gets pretty full on nice days of a weekend....
I'll hit you up for a coffee one day for sure.
I bought my bike privately from WA, had been looking for about six months seriously not a lot out there... good luck. FYI Transport over from WA is costing me $935 through a company called bike moves and they seem very professional to deal with. Bike leaves WA today, Yay....
