I'm fed up now!

Hi all,

just got home from work, i tried the nose pliers on the starter relay, on black wire and blue and yellow wire, but that just smoked the spring in the middle of the pliers, did I do it right?

I will need to check the contacts on the starter switch tomorrow morning, but could it still be the starter switch, even tho I get the loud click trying to crank over?

I still need to be sure about the bridge on relay thing, which wires do I bridge, the black and the blue and yellow?

Cheers chaps.

I wish I knew someone I could trust, but that isn't the case here. I'll keep digging till I reach the cause or make that fix.

I just tried this on my 2010 Roadster.
Ign ON
Clutch tied up (IN)
In Neutral
Kick Stand Down
Bridged with pliers (As per Photo)

Cheers Mitzzy, I'll get back down to my bike again tomorrow morning, 11.40 pm now. I tried exactly that this morning, but will try again.
What does this do exactly? Can I leave a wire tied in permanantly?

Cheers.

I would not recoment BYPASSING the start curciut. you are best to get to the bottom of the problem (forces you to learn more also)

Seriously:
If the relay does NOT click (when you try to start the bike normally) the problen will be BEFORE the relay (Start Button) Do as Warp has sugested (Its Easy - See pics)

Have a look at my previuos post.
2nd pic the two black wires next to the screw are your start wires the are for the switch you could bridge these to test the rest of the curcuit before taking that same screw out to clean the contacts.
If you do take the screw out to clean the contacts - be sure you are careful not to drop any parts (Spring).

I cant do much more that this except fly over to look at it for you (Not going to happen sadly)

NO WAY, this is for a momentory power feed only to engage the starter motor.

That's awesome Mitzzy, very easy to follow with nice pics, I have a better Idea what to do now. I'll do this and report back tomorrow after the mandatory 9 hrs sleep, which starts about now.

Thanks, will post back with my findings/results. One final question tho, would the starter solenoid not click if the starter relay didn't work?
