Wow that's 4065.74 USD even with the update kit going for 1200.00 USD now verses the 200.00 I paid for my kit. I would do this all day long for 2800.00 in labor. I must admit though I took my time and a weekend to complete it along with the other repairs from my internal clutch hub exploding
Since the price is gotten astronomical on these I should point out to you that not everything is needed or upgraded. Some things are there because of bad Quality assurance so they send the parts in case they missed something. If you have a middle 08 to 09 they should have most of the components in it already. 08 Touring and 09 standard and classic model years were the first years the detent spring started breaking. Before that the only reason why the detent mechanism was touched was because of the change in the detent wheel design.
Glad to hear your 07 is running fine next time you have the rear wheel up pull the bevel box and check to make sure you splines are lubed well with molly paste. as it is something not stressed in the update kit instructions and is only pointed out in the shop manual as a general statement.
