Riding Motor Since 1950
A simple little fix that I reckoned someone may find useful . . .
I dove into my tool box (old air filter box) to clean & prep for the season riding.
I found the baggie cover I had placed over the oval hole at the top to keep out grime had torn.
Using the OEM 90° rubber that originally connected there, I made a wooden plug to fit the other end.
Sink the plug deep into the opening because you will need clearance for a sensor that sits just forward of it.
I used a strap clamp from the plastic intake to secure the wood plug.
It was necessary to use some side cutters to trim the rubber ridge in order to position the clamp inboard of the ridge.
Some WD40 on the air boxend will facilitate positioning it back into the air box.
Cut some foam to carpet the flor of the air box and you are good to go!
