'07 Riii Touring
G'day all, you may recall that I bought a bit of a wreck a few months back - '07 Touring edition with serious front end damage.

Today it went for it's registration inspection (NSW, Australia) and passed with zero comments or issues!

Went for a little run of about 50 klms and now I think I get this whole Rocket III thing :)

During the rebuild we found some gold - TOR Pipes, K&N Filter, TOR Tune !

Still to do - repaint radiator (They sent me the wrong colour), change grips - they are too small for my big hands and i was getting a cramp - repair RH footboard - it's a little wobbly, and ride it - ride it ride it.

Cheers all!

Cool... dare I ask how much $?

Not a problem . . picked up the bike for just over $3k, then parts probably another $1500, and then a few weeks work of an evening.
Green slip (Compulsory third part insurance) was $630 - which is wild - my modified Mk5 GTi is $380 a year! and registration was around $250.

So all in all, I'm on the road on a Rocket, and a pretty nice one, for less than $5k.

I also have an America 800 that I was going to keep, and sell the Riii, but I think it will be the other way around now - keep the Riii, give the America a coat of paint and cleanup (Similar to the Riii) and then sell that.

Is that usd? ... seems on point for repairs but the insurance?
When my 06 got its front fender bent I got a $6500 payout. $95 a year policy.

Ha, Australia - average price for an Riii here is about $8-12k for that age.

That's not 'comprehensive' insurance, that's just Third party - it's a compulsory thing here in NSW, unfortunately, but also, it's a good thing - I was once hit by someone as part of an accident (I was the third part) and all my repairs and hospital were covered without question.

Nice restoration. Great looking ride. Hope the first time out was all you wanted it to be and more.
