How to tell if I have the right cable

Don't know Fred.
I'm assuming you mean the TuneECU cable right?
I know mine is blue on both ends and blue in the middle and it's worthless.
I ordered the correct one cause Scott felt pity on me
and sent me the link for the right one
after he led me through about 30 minutes of stuff we couldn't do
cause my cable sucks...
Sure be glad when it gets here too....

Hey Skip. Do me a favor. Take yours apart (4 small phillips screws) and see if one of the chips in it has "FTDI-FT232RL" written on it. You'll need a magnifying glass.

ok, hang on, I'll do it right now.

Nope nothing like that Fred.
mine has 4 wires red, white, green, black in that order.
Got a bunch of single letters with number combinations at every
solder point like R8, Q4, stuff like that on one side.
then on the other side (the side with the non working led,
it has fewer numbers.
on the actual plug where the wires are soldered into the plug head itself,
it just has 4 numbers, 1, 8, 9, an 16.

kinda but not exactly.
my green board is rectangle,
it doesn't have the rounded shoulders toward the back.
one big black square thing instead of two on the opposite side from the led.
one little square black box on the same side as the led.
Your wires look to be a bigger diameter too,
and looks like you've got 6 solder joints to the plug where mine only has 4.
I'll get my camera and post ya a couple of pics in the morning.

Fred,
here's an couple of pics of one that doesn't work.

.

Don't know how to turn the "flash" off.
but you can see my wires are smaller than yours and only 4 solder joints.
