How many miles will a Rocket go before you need a rebuild.Has anyone have over 100,000.I think this motor should last a long time it never works hard.Has anyone blown one up?(stock)I have 49,000 and it runs better than new.Is there a forum for this? Thanks Mike P (scooch)

I was asking about the motor itself.I have had every problem that the early r3 are noted for including a blown transmission but Triumph took care of all of them free of charge when it was 2 years out of warentee.Nothing really broke it was just installed wrong. If this bike was put together right I think it is bullet proof.10,000mi since upgrades no problems.I love this bike.

I believe was Rocket UK (Pete) who had the timing chain problem but that not unusual. It is odd that Triumph doesn't have a replacement interval for it.

When I bought mine, the dealership told me that Triumph had bench run the Rocket engine for 200,000 miles. His point was the same. It is a well designed, relatively low compression engine that should last well over 100,000 miles. Of course, the drive train might give out before the engine does.

there have been some problems in the earlier rockets i believe, but its not across the board. A cam gear broke in mine at about 28,000 and the broken bits went into the crankcase as well. Thankfully Triumph covered for most of the cost even though the bike was out of warranty. Still wouldn't trade in the Rocket for anything else.

I would certainly expect it to go 100,000 but if you put those all on 1/8 mile or 1/4 mile at a time, well, the driveline may suffer!

I fear there are more miles left in my Rocket than in me. :(
You know, Mike, me and my buds have discussed this very thing. When the time comes that I can't hold the beast up, I'm gonna trike it and just keep riding. Good Lord willing, this bike will last until I don't need one anymore...
