Hi from Moscow, Russia

How crucial is ABS on R3R? Is it a must-have or a nice-to-have? There are a lot of attractive pre-2010 Rockets for sale, at very good prices.

YES!
Fred just hasn't had a close enough call yet.

Testing has shown that ABS will yield the average rider .75g or more compared to .55g to .60g.
In real world speak, an emergency stop from 60 mph will take 160 feet compared to 218 feet!
That 58 feet could make a HUGE difference!

That guys the reason I would never buy a used rocket!!! Or any other used high performance machine!! To many fn idiots with more money than brains!!!

AND you dont want a flat when using a car tire as it doesnt fit the rim correctly and will come of the bead and can cause a crash

I have found the bike I want. 2014, 3600 miles on it, looks good, the price is good too. The bike was imported from the US. Please see photos.

There is a scratch on the bottom of the engine. Is it something I should worry about?

What is your overall impression?

The previous owner probably drove over a speed bump of some kind and scraped the sump. If it isn't cracked and not leaking it should be fine. Tires look fine from my vantage point. The bags are on backwards though. I hate the look of the floorboards on the passenger position. My preference is pegs. You could always sell them. Depending on price it looks fine and should give you years of service and ........ a perpetual grin.

it looks ok but it took a big hit which might make the pan seal leak. i would check the pan bolts to make sure they r tight and keep a look out to make sure it is not leaking. my guess would be that is what happens when u drive over a curb.

Was worried about it too. I had a look at the bike today. It does not seem to be leaking. The auction's report does not mention leaking either.
Here is a better picture. What do you think, Turbo200R4?

Anyone else, any thoughts? Otherwise the bike looks just perfect. I need to decide today.

i deal with broken aluminium transmission cases a lot. i would not let this little hit stop me from buying this bike. if it does seep oil u can drop the pan and clean it up and put some JBWELD on it. not a problem.
