Hi from Moscow, Russia

Mavreg, The Rocket (Roadster or Touring) is a far better bike than a Street Glide. There are several guys on here including myself that have had numerous bikes over our years of riding. And I would venture to say that the guys that have had bikes from the Motor Co. will agree that your money is best spent buying a Rocket. I have had several H-Ds, including big twins, and a dresser. In fact I still have a Springer that is doing a great job as a collector of dust, extra helmets, and a couple of sweatshirts. However it has only collected about 200 miles since I brought the Roadster home. I cannot say enough about The Triumph. And these guys on this forum have been great with sharing advice, tech tips, and several good stories of there Rocket adventures. Buy the Rocket, you will find muscles in your face you never knew you had due to the constant laughing, smiling and that sinister grin you will get every now and then. Good Luck Comrade.

I still have some doubts about travelling on R3R. In this video the big guy says that within 9000 miles he had ridden, he changed the rear tire 3(!) times and the front tire twice.

Is it really so? 3K miles for rear and 5 for front?
Darkside?

Welcome big guy" I had a Harley sportster back in 1976 when I was discharged from the Navy, it was only 1000cc and
trying to hold a speed of forty or fifty mph meant turning very high rpm, you won't have any of those issues with the rocket 3.
I have a 2005 and I personally will not ride anything else, she does take some getting used to, I can't see you having an issue
with her; If you don't get a rocket, you will always wonder what you missed out on!

Well, he got about 2 of the thirty specs. he mentioned correct

Mavreg, That guy in the video is an idiot. He claims the bike became sluggish due to a rocker cover gasket leak? By the way he called it a head gasket. He doesn't know the difference between a rocker or valve cover to a cylinder head. He also isn't telling you how many burn outs and hole shots he is doing. If he had to replace the clutch at 8K miles he isn't riding it correctly. 3 rear tires in less than 15K sounds like he is hammering the s%$t out of it. I ride my 2011 R3R hard and replaced the original Metzler around 10K with an Avon Cobra. As far as brakes go, I cant imagine what this nitwit is doing to cause premature wear other than constant hard braking.

There are a lot of experts on you tube that have never ridden a tricycle let alone a gasoline powered two wheel creature such as the mighty Rocket. Google some of the motorcycle magazines for a real review. This guy is a turd.

I am not making a dime on your Rocket purchase but I enthusiastically recommend you at least take a good long test ride on one. You will not be disappointed.

How crucial is ABS on R3R? Is it a must-have or a nice-to-have? There are a lot of attractive pre-2010 Rockets for sale, at very good prices.

I had a 2011 road glide ultra. I spent money on the heads, exhaust, intake, I put cams in it and had it painted my favorite color. I rode the R3T once and traded the road glide in like I didn't ever like it. The only thing the Harley had better was a comfortable seat. I've customized the stock seat and have it so I can ride all day comfortably.
