Dear IS Being,
The Roadster is the $hit!
I agree with vanguard that new is best.
If you go used be sure it has ABS!!!
PS: Welcome from WA.

Welcome from Texas! I haven't wanted for another bike since purchasing my Touring. Best Bike Ever. Good luck in your hunt!

Welcome from Virginia! Go new if you can and I love two up on my Touring...

Welcome from south LA.
Howdy. Roll Tide. Are ya in the Mussel Shoals area ? Its a good time to buy with the new ones rolling out. I know Myers Triumph in Asheville,NC has at least one if not two Roadsters.

I'm in North Alabama and have committed to myself to own a beast. I currently have no bike. I sold my vtx 1800 retro last year and have been ready for another bike since. I have decided a beast is the way to go. My first question is to go new 2013/2014 or go used and maybe add power supplements. I ride 99% 2up and my wife loves the acceleration.
I had an 1800 VTX r model before I got my Rocket. The VTX has 120 lbs of torque and 106 h.p. It is pretty powerful but not on the same universe with the Rocket. The VTX has power in certain rpm ranges. The Rocket has power at every rpm range. VTX was a good ride but I just got bored with it.

Welcome to the horde from Northern Michigan.

Personally I would purchase new. You are not inheriting someone elses mistakes. Ride her for awhile before spending tons of money on enhancements. You might find she is all you need, as is:)
Van does have a point. Buying a used Rocket can be like buying a used sports car; there's no telling if the first owner couldn't overcome the urge to see how fast it would go in the first 50 miles and never allowed the rings to correctly seat, causing all sorts of problems down the road. But that being said, Rockets have 2 year transferable warranties, so if you do buy used, there's a good chance you might still have some warranty coverage.

You might also look for a new leftover from the previous one or two years. The price may be the same as buying used (certainly much lower than a new one from the current model year), with the added advantage of a full warranty. This is what I did with my 2009 R3T and I saved thousands.

BTW:
