HELP - REMOVE FUSE BOX

Nice tool, Tony.
Don't know if that tool will get in there as it's pretty tight in there.

DEcosse and warp9.9 and the other guys who have assisted me on this thread,

Thanks guys, you've all been most helpful with advise and drawings. I've managed to locate the 3 wire auxiliary lights connector hidden, well down under the mass of wires under the tank. Very difficult to find and I almost gave up but, I was spurred on by another thread as they had said that it was indeed, very difficult to locate.

I do not have the male half of the plug connector as I've pulled all the wires and installed the LED spot lights and switch already so I don't need that connector. I'll just splice and solder onto the Red/Bule to provide +ve power to my new LED spot lights.

BTW, I already have heated grips fitted so I drilled another hole into the OEM Handlebar Heated Grips Switch Box and installed another new 2 position waterproof switch next to Heated Grips Switch which matches perfectly $3.70 eBay and it appears OEM original. I'll post some pics of the LED spot lights and the switch soon.

The red/blue is only intended to be a relay trigger - the high current supply is the purple (constant power)
You really shouldn't use the red/blue for the lamp current

Ok it has been a lot of years since I installed my fog lights (OEM) but there is a harness that comes with them that has a relay in it. it gets routed down the main harness and then behind the engine to the left side and you hang the relays with the others that are there. then from there back up to the lights and the switch. this is what makes it a OEM plug and play unit. The wire colors remain the same but the gauge size changes to small for the trigger signal. I guess it does not get the amps running thru it, just the larger wires. main power purple to the relay and of course the actual light wires and plugs. Just guessing as I am not electrician. I must say I enjoy reading Decosse's post as there is always something to learn :)

All good, thanks warp9.9, Got it! Purple - for lights and the red/blue feeds the relay coil. The black feeds the coil negative.

I've chopped the little OEM electrical connect off and soldered those wires directly to the relay coil base and secured the relay under the tank. It's not necessary to run extra wires and install the relay coil under the side cover with the other relays. I don't favour joining connectors as they sometimes cause problems; direct solder may be more difficult but is always more reliable. I hope to finish the job today and post a couple of pics tonight.

Thanks again for your help guys. God..........this is a great forum!!!!!!!!!!!!
