good point Dennsell, but once you have the PCV w/at installed, you will see your reservations with the ease of use and setup will be nominal. While dynojet may lack a bit in supplying the most current literature, they are excellent with technical service after the sale. This product is truly the closest to plug n play that is on the market. The only thing you need to add is the base tune and even that does not have to be all that close, as the autotune will alter it significantly to suit your engine's needs. I am personally opposed to supporting any entity that is willing to lead me to an obsolete product to protect their bottom line, that action by any business is reprehensible and should be considered terminal to their integrity (more mushroom power).

I was in touch with Chris from Dynojet during the delelopment of the PCV for the Rocket. The Rocket was low on their list of bikes to develop any new products for. They only list 09 and up because that was the year of bike they had and they did not want to offer support for earlier models at that point.

Here is the email Budman got regarding this back in '09:

We are only officially supporting the install of the PC5 on the 09 and newer models. We have only tested the PC5 on 09 models. We have only tested the PC3 on the 08 models and that is the unit we support to put on your bike. We do not support any install of the PC5 on 08 and older bikes. Some units may retrofit back to older years but we are not doing any testing or supporting the install on 08 and older models. Also, if the unit does retrofit back to an earlier model there may not be any compatible predeveloped maps.

That being said, the PCV and PC3usb for the Rocket III have the exact same connectors. So, I see no reason why it would not retrofit back to your older bikes.

Sorry EWS but Im am not sure I understand your final comment here.
Are you talking about this particular product that will become Technologically obsolete eventually as most electronic marvels do.. or something else?

No, I am specifically referring to the lack of professional integrity that was displayed by more mushroom power, when they tried to sell you a PC111 and the PCV is clearly a better buy and they are supposed to be the "knowledgeable" professionals here. I get burnt out with the lack of professionalism that some dealers exhibit. If you want to successfully sell a product then @##$%$@@??!! learn the product and everything about it!!!!!

Sorry I follow now and I agree with you, somehow I think there could be a little more going on there somehow, one thing for sure is I will not be buying there just on principle. I intend to follow up on muleskinners supplier and your kind offer at the moment.

Wish I could but in the next few years apart from trying to get to the States I am planning on coming over there to see cousins I haven't seen in 30 odd years and will look you and a few others up then.

On another note when I spoke to More Power and Power Commander it was Power Commander that is keeping every one in the dark about the fact that PCV was able to be used on the older models because THEY still have to much Stock to move therefore why they have not Officially updated their Catalog And More Power go by that Catalog When selling because as the guy from Power Commander said they only tested it on an 09 an therefore can only legally/officially recomend the for the 09, any way I have just ordered mine!! the bloody phone bill can wait till next payday (it will only be 3days late, so what!!)

I would guess the guy was not familiar with our ever popular Rocket M/C. He most likely went off of Dyno Jet's web site info regarding bike applications, not personal experience. I'm just glad Dyno Jet decided to make either one available for the Rocket! After market performance parts for our bikes seem to be far and few between to non existent!
