I'm suddenly suffering with an ignition stitch or other ailment following a tune download. The download was fully successful and the 12 minute tune also followed successfully. I reinstalled the seat and suited up to go to work and find no normal instrument cluster lights working, with few exceptions, no tach nor speedo cycling and no head lights. The parking lights work.

I got the two red lights to illuminate after several times of cycling the key but no joy otherwise. I left for work with a heavy heart and a charger on the battery. I returned this evening to only minor differences with the instrument cluster idiot lights working only momentarily and still no tach or spedo sweeps.

My first thought is a corrupted tune file. Is there any support for this theory. As I said before the tune download seemed to work fine; but, I'm grasping at straws and any insights. I've recovered from failed downloads before but always the instruments did their normal actions.

It's three weeks away from RAAIV and I'm suddenly a bit frantic. I've been saving my pennies for months to get ready. Even splurged and bought my annual pair of new boxer briefs and socks, early, just for the occasion.

The momentary illumination of the instrument cluster lights is not consistent; maybe the two red, on the speedo, and maybe the full set (tach as well) and then again, none at all. A hear a click or two in the area of the ECM or somewhere under the seat but that also is intermittent with the presence of instrument light(s) illuminating.

Will TuneBoy work with the lack of instrumentation to perform tests and tune reload. It's 2246 hours and I'm in the dark right now.

When was the last time your ignition switch crapped out on you...happened to me, sounds like the same symptons.

Good luck...maybe a "goodwill" repair from Triumph???

Did you try reloading the tune. Also, if you can open Tuneboy diagnostics, you can reset adaptions and do the same as the 12 min tune. Might save you some gas.

I had a similar problem on time and cost me over 100 dollars to have it tracked. I turned out to be the fuse for the heated grips. I no it sounds crazy but it fixed the problem. i know several others that have had the problem and this fixed it also. Guess it is worth a try.

As I said, I'm very anxious about this. Time is passing too quickly now and I'd sure hate to have the bike locked up at the dealer for the next three weeks. I've called twice this morning leaving messages with multiple return call number and still no call back. They state on their website, their goal is positive referrals

I will attempt a "failed" Tune reload in the morning. I should have done it this morning but the asparagus was in great need of harvesting and I'm off to work in an hour.

I will surely inspect every fuse I can find. I don't have heated grips but do have Lobster Claw gloves They're the best alternative when riding in the winter without heat grips.

I did get a bit rough in putting the seat back on after the Tune download yesterday. I'd added a pair of BeadRider beaded seat pads. Man, these things are cool...really they greatly reduce the heat in the seat. I got the ceramic model versus the wood. The bungee cord attachments, wrapping under the seat, presented some sort of resistance and necessitated an extra effort to lock the seat down.
I can't imagine what this has done, but anything is possible. Take for instance, the 7 April '09, DHS report that identifies returning war veterans as possible homegrown terrorists as a result of their pledge to uphold and to defend The Constitution. It's criminal that other oath takers, of the same swearing, would compromise theirs and this nation's integrity.

Molinoman, I wasn't familiar with the "goodwill" claim but I will pursue that avenue if necessary. Keep your head down

I did not have heated grips; evidently some of the instrument cluster is on the same circuit. Might not be the problem but worth a try.
