I have a couple months to decide which exhaust to purchase for my new Roadster. I just need some help narrowing it down to one. I've already eliminated a few systems. I cannot get the TOR's they are only for the non-Roadster. The Preds are hard to come by, though they look and sound great. D&D is the same as TOR's. ZARD looks pretty cool and unique, but the sound is terrible. I like the look of the Shorties, but again, the sound sucks. I hear that due to the placement, they add too much in helmet resonance as well.

So that said, I've narrowed it to the Jardine system, and the Staintune that was released just a couple weeks ago. The price is close enough to not be a deciding factor.

Staintune thoughts: Link Removed
Pros:
I like the look. They look very similar to the Roadster stock exhaust with slash cuts at the end. They come with a cat eliminator. The finish matches the stock well.
Cons:
They look very similar to the stock exhaust (I know I called this a pro, but I'm undecided). The slash cut shows that the large pipe is just there as a resonating chamber and the actual opening is pretty small. The system does not replace the stock header. Ceramic/powder coating the system will be difficult.

Pros:
They are crazy smooth looking. The header is the best looking feature in any exhaust on the market. Fewer parts to ceramic/powder coat (I will make them black no matter what I chose). More power (unverified).
Cons:
The upsweep shape, though looking cool, makes the pipes much closer to the passenger pegs (I like to take the woman with me places sometimes. don't want her shoes to melt to the pipes). I'm told you need to remap with PCIII or Tuneboy (I'm planning on that eventually, but I don't want to spend a crapload of money off the bat). They will make the bike look less like a Roadster (they can be put on any bike. Makes for less exclusive)

Can anyone verify my pros to these options? Maybe negate some of the cons? Is there another system I don't know about? I'm here for your facts and opinions.

Thanks in advance.

Triumph do make a set of Tors for the roadster.
They look the same with a straight through core for a freer flowing exhaust.

I'm not seeing the Roadster TORs on Triumph's site. Where would you find info on those?

I wouldn't expect them to be very cost effective. I'd have to get a new collector anyways to get rid of the third (or first, however you look at it) cat. At $1,099, I assume the Staintune will be cheaper than the TORs plus a collector.

Anyone selling a used Jardine system to make this decision easier? I'm going to ceramic coat (and/or wrap) them, so I don't mind used condition.

The header on the Roadster is the same as any other Rocket and the passenger peg location is the same as the Rocket Standard/Classic. I would think the D&D's for the Standard/Classic would bolt right on. The D&D's are also the least expensive at about $500.00

Also, as stated.. Triumph does make TORs for the Roadster.. they can be slow at updating their website at times.. but your dealer should be able to get them. I would expect the TORs to be less expensive than the Jardines.

As for the Jardines, yes you will need a PC-III or TuneBoy to run Jardines (I run them).. Set aside about $1000 for a set of Jardines, you will also need head-to-manifild copper gaskets..

Predators also require a PC-III or TuneBoy. They are extremely pricey.. last quote I saw was about $1700, and pretty much only available used.
