I have seen pictures of Rockets with protruding air filters (K&N) coming out and facing forward. Does anyone know where i can get one from?

Hello Ad and welcome from Virginia. Good luck on your intake mod. Becareful on tightening the clamps around the intake runners, especially if you get the ramair set up. Many people over tighten them and crack stuff.

I think most of us got ours from flipmeisters.com. But there are other places to buy as well, as they are all standard k&n's. There are multiple options for size. There are under claw options as well, so it depends on if you want a certain look, just more performance, a unifilter, etc.
