I like those top ones. I added the foam slip-ons to my GT grips to make them larger. I’ve never bought aftermarket grips. Does anyone know the grip size on a 2.5 GT?

To remove Triumph Rocket 3 motorcycle grips, you can either cut the old ones off with a box cutter if they are not to be saved, or use a solvent like isopropyl alcohol or brake cleaner with a flathead screwdriver to slide them off the bar and throttle tube without cutting. For the throttle side, you may need to first loosen the throttle cables and remove the throttle housing screws to slide the grip off completely.

Method 1: Without cutting (for reusable grips)
  1. Loosen the throttle side cables: If you are on the throttle side, adjust the throttle cables to create as much slack as possible. You may also need to remove the screws on the throttle housing to split it open and access the cables.
  2. Loosen any bar end weights: Find and remove the bolt securing the bar end weight to the handlebar end.
  3. Create a gap: Gently insert a thin, flathead screwdriver between the grip and the handlebar or throttle tube.
  4. Apply lubricant: Spray a lubricant like isopropyl alcohol or brake/parts cleaner under the grip, using the straw to get the liquid as far in as possible.
  5. Work the grip off: Twist and pull the grip while working the screwdriver to create more space and work the lubricant all the way around. Continue to add more lubricant as needed to help the grip slide off.
  6. Clean the bar: Once the grip is removed, clean any remaining adhesive residue off the handlebar or throttle tube with isopropyl alcohol before installing the new grip.

Take an old hacksaw blade and grind the teeth off, smooth with flap disc. Replaced mine a couple years ago, don't remember any having any problems. Good directions from rainman.
