I've been away from the site for about a year--but not my R3 Classic 07. Been reading the threads (and man this site has so much valuable info)-thinking of Sidecar Flip mainly-but if you like reading about motorcycles, and you don't mind the intellectual writings of a PhD who now operates a MC repair shop in Richmond VA, I highly recommend the following:

'Shop Class as Soul Craft: An Inquiry into the Value of Work', by Matthew B. Crawford.

As an academic of 6 years (formerly of the real world), this is a great book which debunks the myth of a total information-worker society--explained with examples of MC mechanics. To me it is totally worth the $25.95 SRP--SideCar if you read it or have read it I would love to know your opinion...

You spent $26 on a book to tell you information. Now you know what a fish feels when hooked:D An academic formerly of the real world, what are you; a writer for the SyFy channel:D

No, my job is to create/promote productive citizens (critical thinkers) for the society/workforce in the USA (I am a Univ professor)--it is a tough job and difficult to measure success/progress (try to create your own metrics), although most of us instructors know in our craw if we are doing any good. I think the book is very pertinent to our times, and I do not apologize because most every person on this board is a critical thinker seeking quality in terms of a specific domain (R3 motorcycles and their maximization/success/maintenance). Dumb it down all you want, but I suspect you have have spent a worse $26 ($17 on amazon). Surely MS has nothing intellectually on AL (and before you flame me more, know I've been benefiting from your experiences/posts for 2 years on this site). I WAS a FISH because I used to drink too much--

It was not my intent to produce flames. This **** Vista Windows PC has a mind of it's own and trashed my furtherances in expounding upon the state of the information segment we, the USA, are thrust into.

We have lost our bearing as a nation. We are thrust into a segment of the big picture not of our popular choosing. We have lost control.

Since we are suggesting readings, may I introduce you to: Sloughing Towards Gomorrah, by Robert Bork and One World by Tal Brooke.

Welcome back Ms Kid.
My little brother graduated from U.S.M.
Me? I was enrolled there after the service but I majored in whoring around and partying, so no sheepskin for me.
Anyway, welcome back, hope you find time to chime in once in a while.

thanks XHD--I'm orig an Okie from OKC. Lived in T-town 96-97. Had a 32 ft party-barge that liked Lake Keystone and Skiatook. Had a Yamaha 650 twin a few years earlier when I was at OSU-Stillwater...

No, I haven't read it but I will shortly. I'll order a copy. Do you know the ISBN Number per chance? Sounds like some good reading.

Along those lines, I would like to suggest a video to watch. It's 2 hours long and really gets your mind into gear regarding the government and it's day to day brainwashing of the population through various avenues, like the media.

http://www.ae911truth.org/aboutus.php

The video can be accessed on the right hand side of the home page about halfway down. Intelligent minds will find it fascinating, especially mids with a mechanical aptitude. I've watched it 3 times already. It's fascinating and at the same time very ominous.

Because this is a group of degreed engineers and architectural designers and not politicians, there is a tremendous amount of credibility and lots of unanswered questions that need to be answered, and addressed.

Watch it and absorb. It's fodder for the mind.
