Ok, I did a 245 raptor. A member here runs the same tire, weighs 180 and uses 32 psi. I'm 265 and so I set it to 34. It fought a bit so I went to 32. At this point I really don't notice it's a car tire except for making a slow sharp right into my driveway over the curb.

So I have a couple of questions. 1. It's winter in Chicago and so all my riding has been in the cold. Should I expect any change in handling when it warms up or am I good?

Being that it doesn't fight back to turn there's really no benefit to lower the PSI more? I would imagine this would just make the side wall flex and wear more.

unrelated, my bike doesn't mean very much on the side stand. I went for a ride today and when I went to put it in the garage I put the bike on the stand and got off, it started rolling down the driveway on the stand. Is this normal? I only owned the bike since August and it hasn't done that before.

I ride down to 25 degrees, notice no change.
I like 32 psi on mine, but have heard from 28 to 34.
Yes, the lean on the side stand can be, different. Although we have many hills I park on the level both home and at work, and have no problems, but it could roll away on a slope.
One captain said hiis just toppled over away from the stand.
On my third Raptor and I love it. I change out at about 12k, with plenty of tread left.
Much better than the 3k+ I was getting on the first two Metzlers.
i do 10k a year, but only have 6-8 months of ride time due to snow.
Life is good on the darkside.
Welcome.

I shredded what was left of my Metzler while down in Big Bend. Not good because you have to go through BF Egypt to get there. Luckily I found a good MC tech who happened to be at the same bar I was when I looked down and saw cord showing all the way around the tire. He told me the "chip seal" down there eats tires because the rocks they use in the pavement mix are real sharp. He said I wasn't the first Rocket he had helped. Of course there was no 240/16's withing 500 miles so I put on a weird looking 235 55 216 something or other. At least I got that POS MC tire off! Sure felt good going home. I is nice having a proper tire on the rear for a change. Love the Darkside!

Just to start some nasty stuff here...

Cars weigh 4 to 5000+ lbs.

Apx. 70% of the weight is on the front tires

Apx. 85% of the weight is on the front tires during hard braking and tight corners on cars

Average air pressure is 32 psi on autos

Then why are we worried about a 800 lb M/C and one fat boy and air pressure

Now I do run a 225x50 tire and do not have one mark on the sidewalls

I run 24 to 26 psi just everyday riding....32 psi when playing hard

42 psi in the front tire

My driveway is on an extreme slope and I've never had a problem but I always put it in gear on a slope . It's always got a chance of rolling away in neutral that goes without saying

Put one of these on.

The beauty is that you don't need any. Unlike pesky round tyres, these don't go anywhere. And even of you can manage to get the bike moving, there isn't any shock up to the job so why bother.

Richard .... you know the way 'they' feel about their car tyres. If 'they' want to put a car tyre onto a motorcycle , so be it

Put one of these on.
:D That is so funny what are they of a Quad or somthing
what shocks would you suggest with these tires?
bloody good one but I would hazard a guess that look a little different when they actually have air in them
It would freak you out the first time you started to unpack a new quad and seen those Square tyres in the box, are they letting loose on the new bikes now Richard
